The Carlbury Centre
In the Carlbury Centre we provide the opportunity for all young people with a learning difficulty to continue with their education up to the age of 19 years, in 'Officially Outstanding' (Ofsted provision. Students follow a curriculum tailored to their abilities, needs and interests in a fabulous setting which includes access to a:
- Large open plan classroom
- Art & creative area
- Life Skills Flat
- Sensory Room
- Hydro Pool and full sized swimming pool
- ICT suite
- Social area with pool table
- Working Bistro
The Centre has easy access to a local Asda store and town bus routes to promote independence and work related activities within the community. We offer sheltered work placements within school and also within the local community, as appropriate, through:
- The school bistro
- Our Top Class Catering enterprise company
- Nubeck Nursery
- Teckworx
We encourage students to develop their talents in areas such as creativity through the production of our fully inclusive yearly drama performance for parents.
The centre prides itself in fully supporting our young people through their transition into 'life after school'. Carlbury Centre values ALL achievements made by our young people and as such, we offer a range of accreditation to reward these:
- Asdan Personal progress
- Asdan Personal and Social development
- OCN Basic Skills
- Asdan Towards Independence
We look forward to working with a varied new intake of students each year and the attributes they bring!
