The Secondary Department caters for pupils aged between 11 and 16 and is run by Assistant Head Karen Revill.
Our pupils have a wide range of special educational needs around the areas of communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health and sensory or physical needs.
We offer a range of provision which is adapted to meet each individual child’s needs. All children follow the New Nation Curriculum which has been differentiated to meet their needs. Some pupils are educated within small class based groups where their sensory and physical needs can be met by our highly skilled staff team. Others follow a subject based curriculum that is delivered by subject specialists. Where appropriate, a small number of children are included into mainstream classes.
The Secondary Department occupies a suite of adapted classrooms that are close to our dining area in addition to a number of specialist classrooms embedded within the Education Village.
Pupils have access to a range of specialist resources including an interactive room, our amazing new interactive theatre, a youth club, secure outside spaces and sports facilities that include indoor and outdoor playing courts, playing fields, swimming pool and a warm water pool.
