At Gurney Pease Academy the children in Year 6 perform a valuable role in our school. They are taught by the Deputy Head Mr Heritage with TA support from Mrs Cernik and Mrs Kneeshaw during the course of the week.
They help staff and other pupils by undertaking responsibilities as monitors and buddies and show all members of our school community the attributes and qualities expected of all our children. In Year 6 the children strive to become self motivated, enthusiastic learners who are polite, well mannered, self disciplined and exceptionally behaved.
This term we will be working hard to develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve our best in the end of year Standard Assessment Tests. In order to do this we will be working hard to fully develop skills in Mathematics and English while also enjoying other areas of the curriculum through the Cornerstones Curriculum.
We have a busy and challenging year ahead. We are looking forward to making a success of our final year in primary school and will be doing our very best to make everyone proud of the eldest pupils of Gurney Pease Academy.
