Outcomes & Results

One of the Academy’s key strategic priorities is, ‘outcomes for all pupils will be very high, with substantial and sustained progress, irrespective of their starting points.' This is very much the core value at the heart of the school and continues to be the foundation stone that ensures pupils reach their full potential.

The 2018 outcomes are very pleasing and show further improvement as Haughton Academy continues to develop into a really good school.

In summary:

A8 = 44 (2017=40)

Basics 4+ = 56% (2017=50)

Basics 5+ = 36% (2017=31)

Maths: 4+=65%, 5+=44%, 7+=13.5%

English: 4+=67%, 5+=49.5%, 7+=12.6%

Science: 4+=58.3%, 5+=41.7%, 7+=15.1%

English and Maths attainment for 2018 is very similar and good and there is an improving set of Science results. Other strengths in 2018 include Art, ICT, Music, GCSE PE, Spanish, Technology, all vocational subjects, 9-7 grades (D*-D), performance of the HIGH pupils and the really strong performance of our free school meal pupils. The groups of HIGH and free school meals were both key areas identified for improvement in 2018.

The 2017 outcomes showed a huge improvement in the Progress 8 figure of -0.26. This is an improvement of 0.3. With the score having  an upper confidence interval above 0, it shows that our Progress data is very close to being below national but broadly in line. (upper confidence interval =-0.018)

(please note that we are awaiting the addition of one pupil's data and one being removed from the DfE, this adjusts the P8 data from the published -0.3 to -0.26.) This should take place at the end of April 2018.
