Learning Resource Centre

Learning Resource Centre

The Education Village has an impressive and fantastically equipped Learning Resource Centre (LRC) with experienced and welcoming staff always on hand to support student and family learning.

With around 70 computers on the ground floor and floating deck, the LRC opens at 8.00am every school day for students to access computers to support their learning, select books from the library or purchase resources for school. The centre acts as a key education resource for students during the school day as well as a recreational learning area at break and lunch. The LRC is also a key area for our accelerated reader programme, a scheme developed to improve the literacy skills of all our young people.

After school the LRC is open until 4.00 to students from all three academies where again students can complete homework, revise for examinations or undertake research and independent study. From 4.00 the LRC becomes the hub of the school’s family learning programme where parents, carers and young people can have fun learning together.
