Counselling Support Service

In addition to the robust pastoral systems that run within the Education Village supporting our pupils in their learning and achievements, we also offer additional support to both parents and pupils.

For Students:

Your Head of Year and Form Tutor are the first people you can approach if you need some extra help in Haughton Academy. There are lots of different types of support available to you; from people to talk to about any worries you have - through to getting involved with weekend outward bounds trips.

If you need some support right now – click here (317Kb) to have a look at what’s on offer! This launches our online support service where you can ask for support, get immediate help with an issue, report bullying or ask to be involved in clubs or young carers.

For Parents/Carers:

If you feel your child might need some extra support in school, their designated Head of Year is the first port of call. You can contact their Head of Year by clicking here

If you would like to enquire about counselling support for you or another member of you family, please click the email address and write a few words about the type of support you would like.

The Adult counselling service within the Education village is separate to the Academy day. Appointments are usually after work or Academy hours. We undertake to keep the session confidential within certain limitations. The counsellor will discuss their work with a "supervisor” to ensure they are working ethically and effectively. You will not be identifiable to the supervisor. There are also certain legal requirements where we would have to breach confidentiality - for instance under anti-terrorism legislation, the Proceeds of Crime Act or if we are concerned about child protection issues.

In addition to face to face counselling for adults, we also offer an online counselling service which allows you to receive support from your own home. Our counselling services are offered with no cost, the only requirement is that you have a child or family member attending the Academy within the Education Village Academy Trust.

The issues that we can support you with range from anxiety, depression, bereavement and allow you to have a space to talk through any issues that are affecting you or your families life.
