Our Year 6 class is taught by Mrs McManus with Mrs Smith supporting in class full time.
Year 6 is a challenging year as we prepare for our end of Key Stage assessments. It is our final year of Primary School and an extremely busy one. We continue to develop the independent working skills which have been fostered throughout Key Stage 2, taking on increasing responsibility for our own learning in preparation for secondary school next year. We love taking on extra jobs and responsibilities around school and for our teachers and we are super organized!
Through our History topics this term we link in many areas of the curriculum to enhance and enrich our learning. These topics are Britain since World War II where we get to find out about fashion, music and technology to name just a few and the Victorians where we discover all about what life was like for children and about the history of our local area in Victorian times.
Our Geography topic focuses upon the theme of 'Water and landscapes', studying river features, the water cycle and coastal environments and features.
There is a lot to do in Year 6 in all areas of the curriculum and it is a very busy year - but also a very exciting one as we come to the end of our time at primary school.
