What the Pupils Say
"The facilities are amazing and the swimming pool is fantastic to jump in on a really hot day"
(Eileen Khanahmadi - Springfield Academy)
"When I was invited to the student of the year awards I felt so proud and my family had a brilliant evening."
(Charlie Walker Springfield Academy)
"I was a bit concerned when I first came to the Education Village because it was so big compared to my primary school but I made loads of new friends really quickly and it was simple to find my classrooms because the Village is just a 'big circle' so you can't get lost."
(Reanna Adams - Haughton Academy)
"I like the fact that students' views and opinions are really listened to, valued and acted upon. I also really appreciate that students are part of the interview process for the appointment of new school Head Teachers and their deputies."
(Katie Roe - Haughton Academy)
"I was encouraged to really get involved in school life and if I wasn't happy about something I should do something about it! I joined a student voice group who wanted to change our 'scruffy' old uniform and move to blazers, shirts and ties. I visited other schools and spoke with students both in our school and other Darlington schools and we recommended a new uniform to the school leadership team. They supported our ambitions and we now have a much smarter uniform."
(Katie Bond - Haughton Academy)
"I love Science at the Education Village. The teachers are really interesting and I love to investigate and explore the science curriculum and do some great experiments."
(Morgan Robson - Haughton Academy)
"The mentoring scheme was really important for me. It was good to be challenged to make sure all my coursework was complete and that I had a good disciplined approach to my examination revision."
(Beth Reid - Haughton Academy)
"I loved taking part n the Duke of Edinburgh Awards programme. Getting my Bronze Award will really help me and the expedition was a real challenge."
(Zac Boddy - Beaumont Hill Academy)
"I love the Education Village. The staff are really kind and we have fun."
(Abigail Kirby - Beaumont Hill Academy)
