Covid-19 update

Please find below the most recent Covid-19 information.

In line with Government guidance, from Monday 17 January 2022, people who are self-isolating with Covid-19 are able to reduce their isolation period after 5 full days, if they test negative on a lateral flow device (LFD) on both day 5 and day 6 of their isolation period and they do not have a temperature.

For pupils, this means that if they are self-isolating because of Covid-19, they can take a test on the morning of day 5 of their self-isolation period and the morning of day 6, and if both tests are negative, they can return to school immediately on day 6.

The Government recommends that the first test must be taken no earlier than day 5 of the self-isolation period and the second must be taken the following day.  All tests should be reported to NHS Test and Trace.

If either test is positive, pupils should continue to self-isolate until they get negative results from two LFD tests on consecutive days, or until they have completed 10 full days of self-isolation, whichever is the earlier.

If pupils are unable to take LFD tests, or they are still symptomatic (e.g. they have a temperature), they will need to complete the full 10-day period of self-isolation. Should a pupil or member of staff continue to have a temperature after the 10-day isolation period, they must be free of a temperature, without needing medication, for 48 hours before returning to school/work. This may mean an isolation period of more than 10 days.

On 19 January 2022, the Government announced that temporary Covid-19 restrictions in place in England since December will be lifted. The following arrangements are in place from 20 January 2022:
