For all young people to make progress in their physical, thinking and social attributes through active physical education in order to meet their full potential and lead a healthy and active lifestyle.

About Us:

We teach to enable pupils to achieve to the best of their sporting potential and always try to inspire pupils to try a variety of different sporting activities. The department promotes pupil aspirations through PE and Sport to ensure pupils have a vision and a pathway through our subject. We aim to provide our pupils with as many opportunities as possible through both curriculum time and extra-curricular clubs.

PE facilities at the Haughton Academy are excellent, and include: 

Throughout key stage three, pupils are timetabled 3 hours of PE a fortnight, while at key stage 4, pupils complete one hour of core PE per week. The department also offers a number of qualifications at key stage 4: 

PE kit is required for all lessons and should include a grey jumper, grey t-shirt, black shorts/tracksuit bottoms and a pair of trainers.
