The school recognises the value of students learning at home and sees this as a means of strengthening the educational process.
Reading books are sent home at the appropriate level for individual pupils. We have a reading incentive to encourage this vital element of home learning.
At Marchbank, homework has to be very individual to the pupils who attend. Homework can be a whole range of things. It will vary for each child and is likely to change as a pupil gets older, develops or if their needs and priorities change.
Each half term, topic sheets are sent home with motivating activities linked to the learning in school. This supports parents with opportunities to enjoy supporting their children to learn.
Pupils may also be provided with consolidation tasks around maths and English or weekly spelling practise.
